MXroute Post Office Setup Tutorial

There are more and more websites, more and more need a domain name itself as the official sending address, so finally chose to buy MXroute's one-stop hosted email service, wireless domain name, unlimited mailboxes.

Self-built Post Office PK MXroute

It is still troublesome to build your own post office, you need to secure your mail server by yourself, including updating the system regularly, configuring the firewall, monitoring the health of the server, and preventing spam. If not properly configured, you may face the risk of being hacked.

To summarize in one word, it's lazy, and at $15 for a three-year subscription, it's still a pretty sweet deal all things considered (build your own post office, you'll need to buy a server, and it's more than $15 for three years):

If you're not a developer and don't understand post office configuration, MXroute is highly recommended.

Getting to the point, after purchasing a subscription package, you can start configuring your own post office.

Getting Configuration Information - Mail

Once the order has been successfully placed, you will receive an email with a subject line that should be uniform:[MXroute] Important Account Infomation

MXroute Account Info

The email contains the following important configuration information:

Control Panel Information

The login address, username, and password are shown in the image below:

There's Chinese, which is kinda nice, and you can switch between them in the lower left corner.

MX records (mail exchange records)

xxxxx.mxrouting.net (Priority 10)
xxxxx-relay.mxrouting.net (Priority 20)

These records specify how messages are routed to the mail server

SPF records (Sender Policy Framework)

Name: @ or blank
Type: TXT
Contents: "v=spf1 include.mxlogin.com -All"

This is used to prevent the domain name from being used for spam or fake emails

DKIM records (Domain Key Identification Mail)

DKIM is a mail authentication method that verifies whether a mail has been tampered with by signing the content of the mail. By default, MXroute will enable DKIM, but it is still necessary to configure the corresponding DKIM record in the DNS, or else it may affect the delivery rate of the mail.

You can refer to the instructions here for details:DKIM Guide

Your own DKIM is available in the Account Manager - DNS Records section of the control panel.

Mail Client Configuration

IMAP server address. xxxxx.mxrouting.net
SMTP server address. xxxxx.mxrouting.net

Ports.
IMAP SSL: 993
IMAP Non-SSL: 143

POP3 SSL: 995
POP3 Non-SSL: 110

SMTP SSL: 465
SMTP Non-SSL/STARTTLS: 25, 587

These are the important information obtained from all the emails, and it is recommended to do a little configuration.

Domain Name DNS Settings

Since I'm using Cloudflare, I'll use the cf configuration as an example. Other dns providers are generally similar, so just refer to them.

Customized Domain Name

If you want to use your own domain name as the e-mail address, so that it is available to the public, you need to set it up further.

First find the server address, still looking for this part in the email:

Note that everyone's IMAP Server and SMTP Server may be different, depending on your own mail.

Then add two DNS records to CloudFlare:

The target value here is the server address in your email, always note that everyone is different.

After saving these two records, it may take a while for them to take effect.

Then go to the control panel and select SSL Certificates

Then select the first Get automatic certificate from ACME Provider

Note that for the domains checked here, you only need to check mail and webmail, and uncheck the others.

When it's okay, click Save.

After that you can access the mailbox through the subdomain that starts with webmail.

How to create an email login

Create an e-mail account in E-mail Accounts, then click the Enter button on the right or access the webmail interface to check your incoming and outgoing e-mails.

At this point the entire post office setup has been completed, any questions are welcome to leave a comment.
